To hire an influencer, pick one goal, shortlist five to ten creators on the platform your buyers use, agree the price and usage in writing, and pay in stages. In Kolect's 2026 campaign data, the typical agreed fee for one post was $450 on TikTok and Instagram and $600 on YouTube.
Prices come from Kolect's 2026 benchmark report, opened October 30, 2026. It covers Kolect's own campaigns, so treat it as a guide, not a market average. Antellio is not affiliated with Kolect.
The short version
- Start with one goal and one budget. Sales, signups, or content you can run as ads.
- Pick one platform first. Hire where your buyers already watch.
- Judge the last 10 posts, not the follower count.
- Ask about usage. Most single-post deals include rights to run the post as an ad.
- Pay in stages. Hold the money until you approve the work.
Hire an influencer in 6 steps
- Set the goal and the budget. Decide what one good result looks like, and how much you can spend if it works.
- Choose the platform. TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube each have different costs (see the table below).
- Shortlist five to ten creators. Read their last 10 posts and the comments. Look for natural mentions of products like yours.
- Send a short brief. Say what you need, when you need it, and ask for their rate. One follow-up after a week is enough.
- Agree three things before you pay. How many posts, whether the post is organic only or can run as an ad (and for how many days), and how many revisions are included.
- Sign a contract and pay in stages. Put deliverables, dates, and usage in writing. Release payment as you approve each piece.
What influencers charge in 2026
Median agreed fee for one collaboration, in US dollars, by follower size:
| Followers | TikTok | YouTube | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 10K (nano) | $138 | $250 | $300 |
| 10K to 100K (micro) | $300 | $400 | $500 |
| 100K to 500K (mid) | $500 | $600 | $800 |
| 500K to 1M (macro) | $550 | $1,095 | $1,100 |
What to take from it:
- Fees rise slowly. A creator with 100 times the audience charges a fraction of 100 times the price.
- Creators ask for more than they accept. The median first ask was $1,060 against a $500 median agreed fee, so a counter is normal.
- Cheaper per post is not always cheaper per view. Micro creators cost less per post, but mid-tier creators were cheaper per 1,000 views ($15.68 against $30.32).
- The median is a starting point. The range inside each size is wide.

Where to find creators to hire
- Search inside a platform or marketplace. Filter by niche, country, and audience size.
- Check who already mentions you. Customers who tag your brand are the easiest first hire.
- Ask for a media kit. On Antellio, creators connect their accounts, so the kit shows live stats instead of screenshots.

Pay without the stress
- Contract first. Scope, dates, usage, and price in one document.
- Escrow. The brand funds the deal up front, and the money is released when you approve the work.
- Know the fees. On Antellio, brands pay 5% when they add money to a wallet, and creators pay 5% when they cash out. Plans are Launch $0, Growth $60, and Scale $200 a month. See Antellio pricing, or compare platforms in the fee calculator.
Questions about hiring influencers
How much does it cost to hire an influencer?
In Kolect's 2026 data the median agreed fee was $500 per collaboration: $450 on TikTok and Instagram, and $600 on YouTube. Micro creators (10K to 100K followers) had a $400 median. Check the table above for your platform and size.
Do I need a contract?
Yes. A contract fixes the number of posts, the dates, whether the post can run as an ad, and the price. It is what you point to if a deal goes wrong.
What should I ask before I hire?
Ask how many posts are included, whether paid ads are included (and for how many days), and how many revisions you get.
How do I find influencers to hire?
Search by niche and platform, read their last 10 posts, and ask for a media kit. See the guides to hire TikTok influencers, Instagram influencers, or YouTube influencers.
Is it safe to pay upfront?
Paying a stranger the full fee before any work is the riskiest option. Pay in stages, or fund escrow so the money is held until you approve.
