Costs, the label, the written contract, and a safe way to pay.
To hire an influencer in France, shortlist creators whose recent posts reach your buyers, agree the price and ad rights in writing, sign a written contract, make sure the post shows "Publicité" or "Collaboration commerciale", and pay in stages.
The influencer law in France
France has a dedicated influencer law: Law no. 2023-451 of 9 June 2023. Under article 5, promotion of goods, services, or a cause by an influencer must carry the words "Publicité" or "Collaboration commerciale". The label must be clear, legible, and identifiable on the image or video, in every format, for the whole promotion. A missing label is a misleading commercial practice by omission, punishable by up to two years in prison and a 300,000 euro fine.
Under article 8, the contract between the influencer (or their agent) and the advertiser must be in writing, or it is void. It must state that French law applies, the missions, the identity and contact details of the parties, and their countries of tax residence.
The consumer fraud authority (DGCCRF) can warn, order a stop, and fine up to 3,000 euros a day if an order is ignored. In the first quarter of 2023 it checked 50 influencers and found breaches at 30 of them, mostly ads that were not clearly marked. It also flagged posts that used only the English hashtag #ad, which not everyone understands.
This is not legal advice. Check the current rules, and agree in your contract who adds the label and where.
What it costs
We do not have a France-specific rate table. As a guide, the median agreed fee for one collaboration in Kolect's 2026 campaigns (global, in US dollars) was $250 for creators under 10K followers, $400 for 10K to 100K, and $600 for 100K to 500K. Convert to euros at the day's rate and treat the number as a starting point for a negotiation.

Before you book
Sign a written contract with every item the law requires, or it is void.
Ask for "Publicité" or "Collaboration commerciale" on screen for the whole promotion.
Do not rely on #ad alone. Use the French wording.
Put the label where viewers do not need to scroll or expand to see it.
