To hire an influencer in Mexico, shortlist creators whose recent posts reach your buyers, agree the price and ad rights in writing, make sure the post shows a clear label such as #Publicidad, and pay in stages.
The advertising rule in Mexico
Under Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law, advertising includes information about goods or services shared on social networks, and it must be clear, truthful, and verifiable. In 2023 the consumer agency PROFECO published an official Guide to Advertising for Influencers.
The guide says to disclose your relationship with the brand, and suggests labels such as #Publicidad, #PublicidadPagada, and #Patrocinio. Put the label where it is visible and keep it visible for the whole image or video, say it aloud in audio content, and do not mix it with lots of hashtags or put it at the end of a post.
It also warns against ambiguous wording, such as only "Thanks, Company X!", "Embajador", "Socio", "#Publi", or "#Ad". Mexico also has a self-regulation body, CONAR México, with its own advertising ethics code and a complaints process.
This is not legal advice. Check the current rules, and agree in your contract who adds the label and where.
What it costs
We do not have a Mexico-specific rate table. As a guide, the median agreed fee for one collaboration in Kolect's 2026 campaigns (global, in US dollars) was $250 for creators under 10K followers, $400 for 10K to 100K, and $600 for 100K to 500K. Convert to pesos at the day's rate and treat the number as a starting point for a negotiation.
To price one creator, use the influencer rate calculator.
Before you book
Ask for #Publicidad or #PublicidadPagada, in Spanish, near the start of the post.
Ask for the label to stay on screen for the whole image or video.
Do not accept "#Publi", "#Ad", or "Embajador" as the only label.
Ask the creator to base any review on their own real experience with the product.

Questions
How much does it cost to hire an influencer in Mexico?
We do not publish a Mexico-specific figure. Global medians from Kolect's 2026 campaigns were $250, $400, and $600 for creators under 10K, 10K to 100K, and 100K to 500K followers, so convert to pesos. Use the rate calculator for a specific creator.
Do influencer posts need a label in Mexico?
Yes. PROFECO's influencer guide says to disclose your commercial relationship with a visible, clear label such as #Publicidad or #PublicidadPagada, not buried among hashtags. This is not legal advice.
Is #Ad enough in Mexico?
PROFECO's guide lists "#Publi" and "#Ad" among ambiguous references to avoid, and recommends clearer Spanish labels such as #Publicidad or #PublicidadPagada.
How do I pay a creator safely?
Put the scope, dates, usage, and price in a contract, and pay in stages. On Antellio the brand funds escrow and the money is released after you approve the work.
